Media Monitoring Africa & BB Comics Team Up to Release a Comic Book Combatting Mis- & Disinformation

With the support of Impact Amplifier, Media Monitoring Africa through its Web Rangers programme have partnered up with BB Comics (Pty) Ltd. to produce a comic book to inform the youth about misinformation and disinformation.

In an age where information is easily accessed via the internet and social media, with all of us having the ability to reach a global audience, each and every single one of us are publishers. We all need to exercise care as the information we share – even if forwarded, shared or simply sent on to others after seeing it – may be mis- or disinformation. Mis- and disinformation is harmful and has the potential to cause significant harm, even if shared without any harm intended.

The comic book explains the dangers of mis- and disinformation in a simple and entertaining way which can be easily accessed by any reader of any age, for free. The comic book can be accessed and downloaded here.

The comic book is the result of the incredible work of 10 Web Ranger ambassadors (between the ages of 12-17 years old) who came together to develop the comic book and the BB Comics team put their creation together into this amazing, informative creative work.
