Ntate Molefe Tells his Story through Series

So when Ntate Molefe hit the pages of the Daily Sun for the first time five years ago, it followed the format of the quintessential comic book, moving from page to page, chronicling one overarching plot, with different parts of the story tying into one big story.

Ntate Molefe is now being told through individualised comic strips. The theme, plot and the character development is snow squeezed into three or four frames. Each copy of the Daily Sun, containing “The Adventures of Ntate Molefe”, now tells a single, complete story with a beginning, middle and end.

If each strip had to be collected into an anthology, each page would tell a separate unrelated story to the prior and the next.

But this week, as of 29th May 2017, “The Adventures of Ntate Molefe” will be running its first series on the theme of protests. The strips titled, “Protest #1, Protest #2 and Protest #3” will be released Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday this week!

Although each strip, released each day, can be read individually; brought together, they tell a continuous story.

Protest and South Africa has become synonymous, with up to three service delivery protests occurring daily in South Africa, protests that require police intervention, Ntate Molefe needed to look at his issue seriously.
